The Multiple Sclerosis Center Noord Nederland (MSCNN) is a collaborative setting of MS research and patient care between the departments of Neurology and Biomedical Sciences of Cells & Systems of the UMC Groningen, and the departments of Neurology of the Martini Hospital Groningen and the Ommelander Hospital Groningen. The patient association MSVN Region Groningen was closely involved in the establishment of the MSCNN.
The goal of the MSCNN is to further improve care for patients with MS through close collaboration between the three participating hospitals. In addition, the expertise in MS research is bundled. The main focus of research within the MSCNN is on progressive MS with a special focus on myelin repair strategies.
